Sen. Bullard comments on cancelling interim study on abstracting and titles

Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, released the following statement regarding him cancelling his study scheduled for Monday, Oct. 17 at the Capitol to review the abstract and title system.

“Many times, the introduction of a law or study is like asking a question. This year, I asked the question, how can we make our abstracting business more accountable, faster, and safer for the consumer? We have worked with the Oklahoma Land Title Association to put together a collective work on answering those very questions. I am very thankful for their full cooperation and partnership in helping us to examine and find language to do just that. As a result of everyone’s hard work we have decided action, and not the study, is necessary at this juncture. I have cancelled this interim study, and instead am planning to introduce legislation this year with the cooperation of the Oklahoma Land Title Association leadership.”
