Sen. Boren receives key committee assignments for 60th Legislature, including Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren will be taking on additional responsibilities for the 60th Legislature, which include continuing and new committee assignments for the 2025 and 2026 legislative sessions.

Boren, D-Norman, will serve on the Retirement and Government Resources Committee as well as Technology and Telecommunications, both of which are new committees in the Senate. She’ll also continue her work on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and was assigned to the Rules Committee. Boren has also been reappointed to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and to the Energy Committee.

In addition, Boren has been appointed to the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations. The panel is responsible for overseeing and approving agreements between tribal governments and the state.

“Oklahoma’s Tribal Nations encompass our state’s history and culture and are powerful economic drivers for our entire state,” Boren said. “Focusing on transparent, equitable and respectful relationships with the Tribes benefit all Oklahomans, and I look forward to my service on this joint committee.”

Boren also continues her service as a member of the Oklahoma Ireland Trade Commission and as co-chair of the bipartisan, bicameral Oklahoma American Irish State Legislators Caucus.

The 2025 legislative session formally convenes on Feb. 3. Committee and floor agendas, legislation, livestreams from committees and floor sessions and more are available at the Senate’s official website, oksenate.gov.

“I’m honored to serve on each of these committees. They all have a direct impact on the constituents I serve in Senate District 16,” Boren said. “My job is to ensure their views and concerns are heard, and these additional appointments give me an even greater opportunity to advocate for policies and resources that will move this district and our state forward.”
