Sen. Boren issues statement on anniversary of U.S. Capitol insurrection

Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, released the following statement Thursday on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol insurrection.

“Like a large majority of Oklahomans, I feel exhausted by a radicalized minority who persist in defending the Capitol rioters as ‘good guys and political prisoners’ while betraying the true patriots who fought on January 6, 2021, to protect the peaceful transfer of presidential powers.

“I’m encouraged, however, by Oklahomans who see through these kinds of political stunts, as reflected in polls rejecting politicians who defend violence and rioting to protect their power.

“Voting is always the best way to resolve political differences. And I want to remind those who will be voting in the June 2022 primary, that you must be registered to vote before June 3. You can go to the OK Voter Portal   https://okvoterportal.okelections.us/ to get registered.”
