Sen. Boren appointed to CSG South Energy and Environment Committee

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Energy and Environment Committee of the Council of State Governments Southern Office (CSG South). Boren was named to the committee by Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton. She also serves as a member of the Oklahoma Senate’s Energy Committee.

“CSG South includes states that, like Oklahoma, have economies driven by energy industries and we share many of the same concerns,” Boren said. “I welcome the opportunity to learn more about what our neighboring states are doing in the areas of energy and the environment and share some of the things we’re doing in Oklahoma to address both challenges and opportunities.”

Established in 1947, CSG South is a member-driven organization and the largest of the four regions operating under the Council of State Governments, which includes 15 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Boren’s term on the Energy and Environment Committee will end Dec. 31, 2026.
