(Oklahoma City) Senate President Pro Tempore Cal Hobson has appointed Anne M. Roberts of Norman to a four-year term on the governing board of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.
Roberts is the executive director of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, a non-partisan statewide organization committed to improving the lives and life chances of children and youth through system change at the local and state level. She has held that position since 1989.
“Anne’s experience as an advocate for children and young people in Oklahoma will serve the Oklahoma Health Care Authority and the people of Oklahoma well. She is a seasoned leader and will be a real asset to the Health Care Authority board,” said Hobson, D-Lexington.
The Oklahoma Health Care Authority is the state’s Medicaid agency and oversees health care programs for low-income Oklahomans, including 342,000 children.
Roberts is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Child Advocates and the Kids Count Advisory Council of the Annie E. Casey Foundation. She is the former vice chairperson of the National Advisory Council on Maternal and Child Nutrition.
She is also an adjunct professor at St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, from which she holds a bachelor’s in music degree and master’s in business administration. Roberts, who has studied music abroad in Austria, expects to complete a master’s in music degree at OU in December.
