Rader named Distinguished Alumni by University of Tulsa

OKLAHOMA CITY- Sen. Dave Rader, R-Tulsa, was named a 2023 recipient of the University of Tulsa’s Distinguished Alumni award. Rader was honored during the university’s homecoming festivities, held Nov. 2-4.

“From growing up near the TU campus, to my own time as a student-athlete, to over a decade of coaching, the university means so much to me, and has been such a large part of my life,” Rader said. “It is an honor to be included in the University of Tulsa’s distinguished alumni, and I am humbled by the kindness and courtesy extended by the University throughout the celebration.”

Rader graduated from Will Rogers High School, and matriculated to the University of Tulsa where he earned a Bachelor in Science in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, he played on the football team, and even briefly played in the NFL. He would later serve as the head coach of the Golden Hurricane for 12 seasons.
