Sen. Coffee on Mercury Marine jobs coming to Oklahoma.

“This is great news not just for Stillwater and Payne County, but for the state of Oklahoma as a whole,” said Coffee. “Clearly, Mercury Marine has had a significant and profitable presence in Stillwater for years, but their decision to bring more jobs to Oklahoma is real and tangible evidence that the Right to Work law passed earlier this decade and the lawsuit reform law that is about to go into effect are good for business and good for our state.

“I thank the management at Mercury Marine for the confidence they’ve shown in this decision, and I can assure them they’ll be delighted with the results,” Coffee continued. ”This sends a great message to employers across the nation that Oklahoma is the place to grow their business.

Senator Jim Halligan (R-Stillwater) echoed Coffee’s sentiments, and acknowledged those who helped make the Mercury Marine decision possible.

“This announcement by Mercury Marine is a great shot in the arm for our entire area,” Halligan said. “This was a real team effort, and I thank Senator Coffee, my fellow legislators and legislative leadership, Governor Henry, the Department of Commerce as well as the local and state Chambers of Commerce, and ultimately the people of Stillwater for rolling out the Welcome mat for MerCruiser,” he added. “I know Mercury Marine will find hard workers who will produce the highest quality product, and they will be pleased with their decision to relocate these jobs to Stillwater.”
