Pederson Takes Oath of Office

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Roland Pederson, R-Burlington, was sworn in on Wednesday for his final term representing Senate District 19. Sen. Brent Howard, the chamber’s chief presiding officer, led the ceremony in the Senate chamber, with Pederson’s family and friends in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

A lifelong resident of Senate District 19, Pederson is an eighth-generation farmer and former educator with deep roots in his community. He and his wife, Terry, have built a successful family farm operation in Alfalfa County, raising cattle, wheat, and alfalfa on land originally farmed by his Danish immigrant father. With a longstanding commitment to agriculture, education, and public service, Pederson is a champion for rural Oklahoma values. His dedication has been recognized by numerous organizations, including the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, which has honored him with both the Farm Family of the Year award and the Distinguished Service Award.

"It’s truly an honor to continue serving the people of Senate District 19 and to uphold the values we share as Oklahomans," Pederson said. "I look forward to my final term working on behalf of our farmers, families, and the communities we’re proud to call home."

The 60th Oklahoma Legislature will hold an organizational session on Jan. 7, and the full legislative session is set to begin on Feb. 3.
