OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Julie McIntosh, R-Porter, took the oath of office on Wednesday. The ceremony was led by Sen. Brent Howard, the chamber’s chief presiding officer, in the Senate chamber, with family and friends in attendance to show their support.
McIntosh is one of 14 new senators joining the Oklahoma Legislature this session.
As a physician who has practiced family medicine and served as medical director for health departments in Muskogee and Okmulgee counties, McIntosh brings a strong commitment to advocating for patient freedom and personalized healthcare decisions.
Together with her husband, Dr. Brad McIntosh, and their family, Julie has called Muskogee home for over 20 years. A homeschool mom of four and proud grandmother, she is deeply involved in her church and community, actively working to promote family and faith-based values.
“I’m honored to serve the people of Senate District 3 and look forward to working on their behalf,” McIntosh said. “Our community deserves a strong advocate for health freedom, individual rights, and family values, and I’m grateful for the trust placed in me to carry that mission forward.”
The 60th session of the Oklahoma Legislature begins Jan. 7, with organizational proceedings, and the full legislative session set to start Feb. 3.
