OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Julia Kirt, D-Oklahoma City, wants to ensure that Oklahoma City residents are aware of a free educational opportunity to develop skills for a career in tech. Using American Rescue Plan Act funds, the Oklahoma City Alliance for Economic Development has partnered with CodeFellows to provide all-tuition-paid certification pathways for jobs in software development and cyber security.
“I’m so proud that Oklahoma City invested ARPA funds for this free tech certification program,” Kirt said. “Program graduates qualify for jobs with starting salaries of $75-85,000. That is a quality job!”
ARPA funds will cover tuition through Sept. 30, 2024. The program takes 6-7 months to complete, so program leaders encourage interested Oklahomans to apply by January 2024.
Qualifying applicants must have lived in Oklahoma City since March of 2021. To learn more about the program and to start an application, visit CodeFellows online at https://shorturl.at/mOQ28.
