Kirkpatrick Policy Group names Sen. Mann Legislator of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mark Mann, D-Oklahoma City, was named the Senate’s Legislator of the Year by the Kirkpatrick Policy Group (KPG) for his work and advocacy during the 2025 legislative session. KPG organization is a non-partisan, independent, nonprofit advocacy organization.

“The Kirkpatrick Policy Group identifies and advocates for positions on issues that have a direct, positive impact on our communities and state, including protecting access to health care, promoting the arts, and advocating for policy to improve animal welfare,” Mann said. “KPG also advocated for the protection of the state’s initiative and referendum process. I'm thankful for this recognition of my work in the legislature on behalf of these important policy goals.”

KPG ranked lawmakers in each chamber based on their votes on key legislation. Mann and his fellow members of the Senate Democratic Caucus ranked in the top eight positions in the upper chamber. The 2025 session was Mann’s first, after being elected to the Senate District 46 seat in 2025. A small business owner, Mann previously served for seven years on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education.

“I appreciate that the Kirkpatrick Policy Group’s primary vision is the improvement of the quality of life for all Oklahomans through collaboration, respect, education and stewardship,” Mann said. “We’re grateful for that work and vision, and for this recognition.”
