OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Shane Jett, R-Shawnee, proudly took his oath of office on Wednesday, marking the start of another term representing Senate District 17. The ceremony was held in the State Senate chamber, with Jett’s family and friends attending to celebrate the occasion.
Jett served three terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and was also a President Trump appointee to an Advisory Board at the U.S. Treasury. Jett served our Country for 11 years as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy and has an extensive background in government and finance.
A native of Tecumseh, Jett earned a degree in International Business from Oklahoma Baptist University. Jett also graduated with a diploma from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and received a certificate in Leadership from The Wharton School.
In addition to his legislative work, Jett, a member of the Cherokee Nation, is the CEO of a financial institution focused on making commercial loans to Native American businesses, helping foster economic development and job creation across the state.
“It’s an incredible honor to serve the people of Senate District 17,” Jett said. “I will continue to push for common sense legislation to address wasteful government spending and government overreach. I am grateful for the trust my constituents have placed in me and look forward to advancing policies that protect personal freedoms, promote economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for all Oklahomans.”
The 60th session of the Oklahoma Legislature will begin on Jan. 7 with an organizational day for electing leadership and establishing rules, followed by the full legislative session starting on Feb. 3.
