Hamilton honors Stigler speech, debate and drama teams in the Senate

Sen. Warren Hamilton welcomed Stigler’s speech, debate and drama teams to the State Senate and recognized them on the chamber floor for their recent state championship wins.

The speech and debate team won the title of the Class 4A Academic State Champions for their outstanding record in the classroom with a collective grade point average of 3.879. Drama was celebrated as the 5A One Act Play State Champions and the State Crew/Tech Award State Champions.

“These students represent some of the absolute best across Senate District 7 and the entire state of Oklahoma,” Hamilton, R-McCurtain, said. “It’s an honor to recognize our future leaders for their outstanding arts and academic achievements, as well as their leadership abilities. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t recognize Ms. Kasey Parson, the teams’ leader, for her dedication to her students and investment in their lives. I’m very proud of these teams and can’t wait to see where these students land in their future career and educational goals.”

Each student recognized was awarded a citation of congratulations from Hamilton for their achievements.
