OKLAHOMA CITY – The Force 50 Foundation recently recognized and honored numerous individuals, organizations and corporations who have distinguished themselves in the service of Oklahoma veterans. Sen. Paul Rosino was among those honored at their second annual Veteran’s Service Awards Banquet. The retired Navy veteran received the Distinguished Service Award for his work while in the legislature to improve the lives of veterans and their families in Oklahoma.
“I’m honored to have received the Distinguished Service Award from the Force 50 Foundation. I appreciate the award but so many others fight for Veterans, and I’m humbled by the selection,” Rosino said. “I’m pleased by the work of the Foundation to help veterans and their families get the services and help they need and deserve. We have so many great people, organizations and companies providing services to veterans around the state. I’m pleased to see all of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Foundation’s hard work to collaborate with those entities to create partnerships and a network that is easier for veterans and their families to navigate. When we all work together, great things happen.”
During the ceremony, which took place at the University of Central Oklahoma, surviving World War II Veterans and Korean War Veterans were honored along with Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby who received the George Nigh Lifetime Achievement Award for his service and support of veterans.
The Force 50 Foundation was created through the Oklahoma Veterans Pilot Program to help improve veterans’ quality of life, provide opportunities and grow a collaborative network of Oklahoma veteran service organizations. The Foundation also works to create partnerships with other agencies and organizations committed to serving Oklahoma’s veterans and their families. The Foundation is the primary support organization for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Rosino served in the Navy for 25 years retiring at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
