OKLAHOMA CITY – Gov. Kevin Stitt ceremonially signed Senate Bill 426 Tuesday. The measure was authored by Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, and aims to protect Oklahomans from the enforcement of mandates and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), or the World Economic Forum (WEF).
“Today’s ceremony symbolizes our commitment to protecting the rights of Oklahomans. This legislation ensures that citizens of our state are not subjected to regulations that do not align with our state’s values or the personal beliefs of our citizens. I appreciate the governor for holding this ceremonial bill signing and recognizing this measure that protects Oklahomans from organizations who attempt to interfere with state sovereignty and personal liberty,” Burns said.
Rep. Rick West, R-Heavener, served as the House author of SB 426.
“I want to thank Senator Burns for running this important bill with me and the governor for signing it. I also want to thank the people involved in this legislation behind the scenes. This was truly a grassroots effort. This measure acknowledges Oklahoma is a sovereign state that needs no interference from outside, unelected entities seeking to exert power and undue influence over the states and nations of the world,” West said.
