OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, has introduced SB 1537, a bill aimed at enhancing safety measures and accessibility for all-terrain vehicle (ATV) enthusiasts across the state.
SB 1537 proposes to remove provisions related to certain vehicles, update statutory references, and eliminate specific prohibitions, thereby streamlining regulations and ensuring compliance with current standards.
“SB 1537 is a proactive step toward enhancing safety measures for ATV riders in Oklahoma,” Burns said. “By updating existing regulations and removing outdated provisions, we can ensure that ATV enthusiasts can enjoy their recreational pursuits in a safe and responsible manner.”
In addition to updating statutory references, SB 1537 also requires certain equipment under specific conditions to further enhance safety standards for ATV riders. These measures aim to mitigate risks associated with ATV usage and promote responsible recreational practices across the state.
