Broken Arrow lawmakers to hold town hall meeting

OKLAHOMA CITY –Sen. Nathan Dahm, Rep. Mike Ritze and Rep. David Brumbaugh are inviting citizens to attend a town hall meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m. at the Central Park Community Center in Broken Arrow.

Dahm said they would share their insights on the 2013 legislative session as well as discuss some of the issues that may be in the spotlight when the 2014 session convenes in February.  He said those attending would also have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics they’re concerned about as well.

“It’s extremely important to keep the public informed about the legislative process,” said Dahm, R- Broken Arrow.  “But in order for us to do the best job possible, we need to listen to what the public has to say about the issues and find out what they think is best for our state.  That’s why I hope everyone who is able to will make plans to join us for this town hall meeting.”

Ritze said he’s had a lot of questions from constituents since the roll-out of the Obamacare website.  He said this would give citizens a way to learn more about the situation.

“This is a topic that’s on many people’s minds, and I’m sure a lot of people are worried about how this kind of federal over-reach could impact them,” said Ritze, R-Broken Arrow.  “This is a great opportunity for us to talk about what’s going on, and how Oklahoma is responding.”

“The public policy decisions made at the state Capitol matter, because ultimately, these decisions will impact people in every community of our state, including Broken Arrow,” said Brumbaugh, R-Broken Arrow.  “When they take the time to become a part of the process, they have a greater ability to impact those decisions, so I encourage folks to join us for this meeting.”
