Anderson commends rapid response of ODOT crews

Sen. Patrick Anderson Sen. Patrick Anderson

Sen. Patrick Anderson today praised the efforts of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), and Director Gary Ridley, to clear roads following Monday’s blizzard. The storm has made travel difficult in North and Northwestern Oklahoma, but ODOT crews are plowing and treating roads to make them passable.

“The Department of Transportation and its 600 workers have been working around the clock to clear roadways and assist stranded motorists,” said Anderson, R-Enid. “Director Ridley has been in frequent contact with members of the Legislature to keep us updated on the progress of crews responding throughout the state. I am tremendously grateful for the efforts of the men and women working to make travel safe in affected areas.”

Anderson said city and municipal road crews also should be commended for doing everything they can to help with response efforts. With crews still reporting slick and hazardous conditions, ODOT is encouraging area motorists to be extremely careful if they must drive.

Anderson welcomed constituents who need further assistance to contact his office.

“Many are suffering after this extraordinary storm and officials are working hard to respond,” Anderson said. “Anyone who needs assistance or information is welcome to contact my office.”
