OKLAHOMA CITY –   State Senator Marty Quinn has been selected to serve as Assistant Majority Floor Whip for the 2019 legislative session.  Quinn was tapped by incoming Senate Majority Whip, Senator Rob Standridge, to serve in the leadership role.   Quinn, R-Claremore, was also recently selected by Senate President Pro Tempore-Designate Greg Treat to serve as the Retirement and Insurance Committee Chair.

State Sen. Julie Daniels has been chosen to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee during the 57th Legislature, guiding the panel through consideration of legislation impacting the judicial branch of government and other related issues.

Daniels will also serve as Vice Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary and will serve as Assistant Majority Whip for the Senate.

State Sen. Stephanie Bice will hold two top leadership posts in the 57th Legislature.  Bice will serve as chair of the Senate Finance Committee.  She is only the second woman to serve as chair and the first Republican woman to head that committee.  Bice will also continue her role as Assistant Floor Leader.  First named to that leadership position in 2016, she is the first Republican woman to serve in that post and only the second woman to do so since statehood.

State Senator Marty Quinn has begun his second term after being officially sworn in during a special oath of office ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday. 

Sen. Mary Boren was officially sworn in for her first term in the Oklahoma State Senate.  The oath of office ceremony for 24 new and returning members was held at the state Capitol on Wednesday.

Sen. Mark Allen has begun his third term after being officially sworn in during a special oath of office ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday. 

State Senator Darcy Jech, R-Kingfisher, has begun his second term after being officially sworn in during a special oath of office ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday. 

State Senator Chuck Hall is now officially on the job as State Senator for District 20.  The Perry Republican was sworn in during a ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday as friends, family and other supporters looked on from inside the Senate Chamber.

“I am extremely grateful to the citizens of District 20 for trusting me to be their voice in the Senate,” Hall said.  “I’m looking forward to focusing on ways to create more jobs, expand our economy and generate more resources for education, public safety, and other essential, core services.”

State Sen. J.J. Dossett has been sworn in to continue his service on behalf of District 34 in the Oklahoma State Senate.  Dossett was first elected in 2016 in a special election.  A former history teacher and coach, Dossett won re-election to his first full four-year term earlier this month and took his oath of office in a ceremony at the state Capitol on Wednesday.

State Sen. James Leewright was sworn into office during a ceremony held Wednesday at the state Capitol.  He was re-elected to the District 12 Senate in the November general election held last week.  Leewright was first elected to the Senate in 2016 after serving two years in the House of Representatives. The Creek County Republican said he was honored to be returning to the Capitol.
