OKLAHOMA CITY – State Senator Larry Boggs has been tapped to serve as the Vice-Chair of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee for the upcoming 57th Legislature. Boggs, R-Wilburton, has also been selected to serve on the Public Safety and Transportation Committees, as well as the Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services.

Howard, R-Altus, will serve on the Senate Agriculture and Wildlife Committee, the Judiciary Committee, the General Government Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services.
The Agriculture and Wildlife Committee primarily deals with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and Conservation.

The Visionary Award, which was given for the first time this year, recognizes strong leadership in advancing the OK2030 plan for Oklahoma’s future. Pugh was chosen by the State Chamber as this year’s recipient for his 100% supportive voting record on OK2030 issues and for authoring legislation to align state and county election dates.

The freshman Republican will serve on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services as well as the Retirement and Insurance, Education, and Veterans and Military Affairs Committees.

McCortney, R-Ada, was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore-designate Greg Treat to serve as chair of the Senate Rules committee. The Rules Committee primarily deals with legislation pertaining to the state constitution, elections, and other complex issues. McCortney was also chosen to serve as vice chair of the Health and Human Services committee.
