Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat said he agrees with the governor’s health emergency declaration issued Thursday and that the Senate will convene Monday to take action on the order.

Thursday, April 2, 2020 marks the 13th annual World Autism Day.  State Sen. Paul Rosino urges Oklahomans to participate in this global effort to raise awareness and promote inclusion for those with autism.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has left the country with a shortage of personal protective equipment and ventilators, it has also resulted in a depleted supply of blood.

With the need for blood at an all-time high, State Sen. Joe Newhouse, R-Tulsa, has partnered with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to host three mobile blood drives to combat this shortage:

State Sen. Rob Standridge, R-Norman, issued the following statement Saturday on the passing of former U.S. Senator, Dr. Tom Coburn.  Standridge wrote the introduction to Dr. Coburn’s book, “Smashing the DC Monopoly: Using Article V to Restore Freedom and Stop Runaway Government.”

“In 2011, I lost my father to prostate cancer, and now a few years later I lost a great friend and one of my greatest political heroes, Tom Coburn, to that same disease.

Oklahoma Senator Paul Rosino on Tuesday said he is recovering and doing well after testing positive for COVID-19. Rosino was not present at the Senate last week, nor was he among the senators or Senate personnel who underwent testing on Tuesday, March 17, after a Senate staffer tested positive for COVID-19.
