State Sen. J.J. Dossett, D-Owasso, has received his committee assignments for the next two years.  Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd, D-Oklahoma City, has reappointed Dossett to serve on the Senate Education Committee; Agriculture and Wildlife; Appropriations; Veterans and Military Affairs; and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services.

State Sen. Brenda Stanley, R-Midwest City, has been chosen to serve as vice chair of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee for the next two years.  Stanley represents Senate District 42 in the Legislature, which includes Tinker Air Force Base.  Stanley was named to the post by Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City.

State Sen. Marty Quinn, R-Claremore, is inviting citizens from across District 2 to attend the Senate redistricting meeting in Pryor on Thursday, Dec. 17.

Sen. Darrell Weaver will be drawing even more on his background in law enforcement as he takes on his new committee assignments for the next two years.  Weaver, R-Moore, has been chosen to serve as vice chair of the Senate Committee on Public Safety, as well as vice chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary.

Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, filed the Defend the Guard Act Monday to ensure men and women serving in the Oklahoma National Guard are only deployed as directed by the United States Constitution.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Lonnie Paxton has been named Chairman of the Senate Public Safety Committee this week by Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City.

State Sen. James Leewright, R-Bristow, will continue to lead the Senate Business, Commerce and Tourism Committee for the next two years. Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, announced his choices for committee chairs, vice chairs and members for the 58^th Legislature this past week.

State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, R-Adair, represented the Senate as vice chairman of the Transportation Committee during the unveiling of the Oklahoma Public Transit Policy Plan (OPTPP) at the state Capitol on Thursday.

Senators Kevin Matthews, D-Tulsa, and Jo Anna Dossett, D-Tulsa, received committee appointments Tuesday for the 58^thSession of the Oklahoma Legislature.

Senate Appropriations Chair Roger Thompson, R-Okemah, said he was pleased to continue his role as chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee for the 58^th Legislature.  Thompson, who has headed Appropriations for the past two years, said he was honored that Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, had asked him to continue to serve as chair.
