Sen. Brent Howard will be serving in additional leadership roles for the 59^th Legislature. Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat appointed the Altus Republican to serve as chair of both the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Judiciary. He will also be continuing his service as vice chair of the Finance Committee and as the Senate’s chief presiding officer.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, will serve as the vice chair of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee for the 59^th Legislature.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Ally Seifried, R-Claremore, will serve as vice chair of the Senate Education Committee for the 59^th Legislature.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. John Haste has been chosen to chair the Senate’s Aeronautics and Transportation Committee for the 59^th Legislature. Formally called the Senate Transportation Committee, the policy panel has been restructured to highlight the increasing impact of the aviation industry in Oklahoma, the state’s second leading economic driver.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Bill Coleman will be serving in several new leadership roles for the 59^th Legislature.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Roger Thompson, R-Okemah, will continue in his leadership role as Senate Appropriations chair for the 59^th Legislature.  Thompson has served in that position for the past four years, and will also continue to hold seats on both the Senate Rules and Finance Committees.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Julie Daniels has been appointed assistant majority floor leader for the 59^th Legislature, giving her an enhanced role in the daily operations of the upper chamber. 

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Greg McCortney, R-Ada, will continue in his role as majority floor leader of the Senate for the 59^th Legislature.  Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat announced he had reappointed McCortney to the post, which is the second-highest ranking leadership position in the Senate.
