OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Chuck Hall, R-Perry, on Thursday celebrated Guthrie Day at the state Capitol and recognized the extraordinary life and legacy of a renowned local veteran.

The second annual Guthrie Day at the Capitol brought city officials, chamber of commerce leaders and dozens of local business owners to Oklahoma City.

OKLAHOMA CITY— Senator Brenda Stanley, R-Midwest City, issued the following statement in remembrance of former State Senator James Howell of Midwest City, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 91.  

OKLAHOMA CITY — Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, has advanced legislation that would maintain local control of funds raised by local county extension offices across the state.

By keeping locally raised funds separate from state funds, House Bill 3557 ensures that those local dollars can’t be redirected away from county offices.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Democratic Leader Julia Kirt issued the following statement honoring former state Sen. James Howell, D-Midwest City, who passed Tuesday at the age of 91. Howell represented Senate District 42 from 1970 until 1986.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate on Wednesday easily passed legislation from Sen. Ally Seifried, R-Claremore, to permanently keep cellphones out of Oklahoma schools.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate today adopted Senate Resolution 31 to officially designate April 15 as Purple Up! For Military Kids Day in Oklahoma.
