read more.CHANDLER – Sen. Grant Green, R-Wellston, today thanked U.S. Rep. Stephanie Bice for securing $8 million in federal funding for improvements at the Chandler Regional Airport.
Green attended a ceremony at the airport on Tuesday as Bice presented a check to Chandler City Manager Jason Orr.
The grant will help the City of Chandler extend the airport’s runway so it can accommodate larger airplanes. The project will extend the runway from about 4,000 feet to 5,000 feet.
read more.MCCURTAIN COUNTY — Senator George Burns (R-District 5) has announced that replacement signage has been installed along the Representative Rusty Farley Memorial Highway, restoring the designation honoring the late lawmaker’s service to southeastern Oklahoma.
The original memorial signs had been removed over time. Sen. Burns worked with the appropriate agencies to ensure the highway once again properly recognizes Rep. Farley and his legacy of public service.

The measure passed 47-0 and directs the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry to administer the program, which will facilitate the purchase of locally sourced food by school districts across the state. The legislation also creates the Oklahoma Local Food for Schools Revolving Fund to support the program’s long-term sustainability.
