OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, recently filed six pieces of legislation to provide a five percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for police officers, firefighters, and other public servants throughout the state.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Casey Murdock, R-Felt, was appointed on Wednesday to serve as chairman of the Senate Agriculture and Wildlife Committee for the upcoming legislative session.

A rancher from northwest Oklahoma, Murdock previously chaired the Agriculture and Wildlife Committee from 2018 to 2022. When he was in the House, he served on the chamber’s Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.

The initiative comes as incoming President Donald Trump’s administration aims to prioritize public health. Senator Thompson’s bill specifically examines the use of certain harmful food additives that are prohibited in other countries.
