OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mark Mann, D-Oklahoma City, won unanimous, bipartisan support from the Senate Retirement and Government Resources Committee for legislation to help storm trackers travel Oklahoma roads and highways more safely during severe weather.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Carri Hicks, D-Oklahoma City, has won unanimous approval from the Senate Education Committee for legislation aimed at better identifying and helping children with dyslexia, a learning disorder that can hinder a child’s ability to read.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Jerry Alvord, R-Wilson, has secured approval from the Senate Public Safety Committee for Senate Bill 636. The measure prohibits any state entity or political subdivision from using public funding to distribute any pamphlet or kit that opposes the rights granted by the 2nd Amendment.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved Senate Bill 79 Wednesday. The measure by Sen. Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, creates the Uniform Child Abduction Prevention Act, which authorizes a court to order abduction prevention measures in a child custody proceeding if the court finds that the evidence establishes a credible risk of abduction of the child.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate Agriculture and Wildlife Committee approved Senate Bill 939 Monday. The measure, by Sen. Avery Frix, R-Muskogee, aims to expand opportunities for producers to sell homemade goods and farm products.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Jo Anna Dossett, D-Tulsa, has won committee approval for her bill expanding access to driver education for drivers of adaptive vehicles. Senate Bill 487 ensures that those drivers needing to drive an adaptive vehicle due to injury, disability, or any other adverse circumstance can hire an appropriate driver educator for their unique need.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, has secured committee approval for Senate Bills 448, 603, and 869.
