OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Carri Hicks, D-Oklahoma City, is continuing her efforts to protect Oklahoma’s infants by filing legislation to ban the sale of crib bumpers and prohibit their use in hotels and other places of public accommodation. The Department of Human Services (DHS) already prohibits their use in childcare facilities in the state.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate members have received their committee assignments for the two sessions of the 58^th Legislature.   

Sen. Chuck Hall, R-Perry, has been tapped to help lead the Senate’s most important committee.  For the next two years, Hall will serve as the vice chair of the full Senate Appropriations Committee.  Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, announced the appointment Tuesday at the state Capitol.

Sen. Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville, took the oath of office on Tuesday to begin her second term representing Senate District 29.  Daniels and three colleagues took the oath of office this week as they were unable to attend the ceremony held on November 16.

State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, R-Adair, is encouraging citizens across Senate District 1 to attend the public Senate redistricting town hall meeting in Pryor on Dec. 17.
