OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, on Monday hosted an interim study examining the potential dangers of artificial intelligence to children and ways to better protect young Oklahomans as AI becomes increasingly prevalent in society.

Mary Boren, D-Norman, is standing with fellow lawmakers from across the country in opposing an effort by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to rescind the highly effective and popular Roadless Rule, a policy which prohibits road construction and logging on national forest lands with great ecological and recreational value.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, is asking the public to provide feedback ahead of her upcoming interim study on county law libraries. County law libraries provide free access to legal materials, including state and federal statutes, city ordinances, and other resources for legal research. The study will be held by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in room 4S9 of the state Capitol.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Nikki Nice, D-Oklahoma City, held an interim study examining a state law that can force local pounds to surrender dogs and cats for animal testing. Oklahoma is the last state in the nation to still have such a law on the books.

Deevers, R-Elgin, today honored the courage and public service of Federal Wildlife Officer David Taylor following the Department of the Interior’s announcement that Taylor passed while rescuing residents from their homes threatened by or burning from the Railroad South Fire in Comanche County.
