• The Senate met Monday, approving the following measures:

-SB 908 by Sen. Brian Bingman, authorizes the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to accept, on behalf of the state, any gift of property presented to the Legislature or judiciary.

-SR 31 by Sen. Mike Schulz, honors the life and service of Senate Sergeant at Arms Bob Gilmore.

-SB 191 by Sen. Bryce Marlatt, permits process servers or others with similar purpose to deliver a written notice of intent to the owner of the land where the drilling would occur.

-SB 408 by Sen. Susan Paddack, allows the Attorney General and any assistant attorney general to carry firearms anywhere in the state with completion of training.

-SB 1121 by Sen. Clark Jolley and Sen. Ron Justice, establishes budget limits for the Department of Rehabilitation Services.

-SB 1122 by Sen. Clark Jolley and Sen. Ron Justice, establishes budget limits for the Department of Transportation.

-SB 226 by Sen. John Ford, allows students who fail to reach requirements for a high school diploma to re-enroll in that respective school district until the diploma is achieved.

-SB 519 by Sen. Rob Standridge, amends language related to the Motor Fuel Tax Code.

-SB 557 by Sen. Clark Jolley, amends language related to the Ethics Commission.

-SB 629 by Sen. Frank Simpson, removes language associated with the adult day care facilities and amends requirements of the Oklahoma State Department of Health and for facilities operated by the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs.

-SB 287 by Sen. Susan Paddack, requires certain disclosure of criminal records when an individual is applying for state candidacy.

In Other News

• After threat of a lawsuit, the Muldrow School Board approved the removal of plaques containing the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

• The U.S. Department of Defense announced intentions to furlough nearly 770,000 civilian workers, including roughly 24,000 in Oklahoma, beginning July 8. The furloughs will occur for two days per pay period throughout the last three months of the current fiscal year.
