• After threat of a lawsuit, the Muldrow School Board approved the removal of plaques containing the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

• The U.S. Department of Defense announced intentions to furlough nearly 770,000 civilian workers, including roughly 24,000 in Oklahoma, beginning July 8. The furloughs will occur for two days per pay period throughout the last three months of the current fiscal year.
