As a first generation college graduate, Senator Allison Ikley-Freeman earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Northeastern State University. Prior to being elected to the state Senate in 2017, she worked as a therapist at a Tulsa-based, non-profit, community mental-health agency. Through the Tulsa Achieves Program, she embraced volunteerism as a way of life; earning the President's Volunteer Service Award from President Obama.
Senator Ikley-Freeman and her wife, Dawn, have two sons and a daughter. They attend Centenary United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
