Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission seeks public input

The Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission invites the public to participate in a community input meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 p.m. at the Greenwood Cultural Center located at 322 N. Greenwood.  That’s according to Sen. Kevin Matthews, Chair of the Commission.

“It was clear that our community is eager to develop sustainable economic development and mobility solutions. We invite all who are interested to be a part of the process of finding the solutions that work best for the Greenwood District and north Tulsa,” said Matthews, D-Tulsa.

Matthews said the organization’s economic development committee is excited to work with the public on ideas to make sustainable entrepreneurship and economic development materialize in ways the community will support.

“We welcome any involvement from all interested persons ready to roll up their sleeves and make it happen from start to finish. We believe this open and transparent process will yield a solid building block that compliments the work currently happening by committed groups to put north Tulsa on the path to economic stability,” Matthews said.

“We know the spirit of Greenwood and Black Wallstreet is a spirit of entrepreneurship, cooperative economics, finance, and community. We look forward to working with people from all backgrounds and areas to come and help us build as we seek to turn tragedy into triumph,” Matthews said.
