OKLAHOMA CITY – After serving three years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Sen. Taylor was joined by his family for an intimate ceremony at the Capitol on Tuesday.

“What an incredible privilege it is to serve even more of the citizens of Lincoln, Pottawatomie and Seminole Counties as I join my esteemed colleagues in the Senate,” Taylor said.  “I look forward to continuing my efforts to the protect Oklahomans’ 2nd amendment rights while streamlining state government, decreasing regulations and demanding fiscal responsibility. Just as in the last two years, my values will continue being my priority.  I’m a man of faith, family and freedom who believes traditional values are the foundation for a better Oklahoma.”

Taylor graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Aviation Management and a minor in Finance.  He is a small businessman who is a partner in RKR Exploration, his family’s oil and gas operation.  He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married for 15 years and have a six-year-old daughter. While in the House, Taylor served as Chair of the Rules Committee and as a member of the Appropriations and Budget, Energy and Natural Resources and Insurance Committees as well as the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget.

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat congratulated Taylor and said he was looking forward to working with him during the 2021 session.

“The Oklahoma Senate is proud to welcome Senator Zack Taylor,” Treat said.  “In the House, he proved himself a leader who could work with others to get things done for our state. I know his experience as a small business owner will be a valuable asset to the entire Senate as we work to make Oklahoma an even better place to live, to work and to raise a family.”

The Senate will hold a one-day organizational meeting on January 5, and the 2021 session will formally get underway on February 1.
