Southwest Oklahoma City lawmakers release statement on shooting of Oklahoma County deputies

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Paul Rosino, R-Oklahoma City, and Rep. Chris Kannady, R-Oklahoma City, released the following statements Monday following the tragic shooting of two Oklahoma County sheriff deputies, killing one and seriously injuring the other.

“Our hearts go out to the family of the Oklahoma County deputy who was senselessly killed in the line of duty today, and his partner who is in stable condition,” Rosino said. “I’m sickened that anyone would resort to such needless violence and have so little respect for life. We must do more to protect our brave law enforcement men and women from becoming targets and ensure those who seek to harm them are punished to the full extent of the law.” – Sen. Paul Rosino

“What a tragic day for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department, our law enforcement community and our state,” Kannady said. “Our prayers and thoughts are with the fallen deputy’s family and his partner as he fights for his life. This is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers facing these public servants on a daily basis. As a society, we must stand up against such lawlessness and hatred.” – Rep. Chris Kannady
