Sen. Scott Named to Key Senate Committees

Tapped to serve as Vice Chair of Select Agencies Committee

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Paul Scott has been chosen to serve on several key committees in the Oklahoma State Senate.  Senate President Pro Tempore-designate Greg Treat recently announced the appointments.

The Duncan Republican will serve as Vice Chair of the Select Agencies Committee and is one of only 21 members to serve on the full Appropriations Committee. He will also serve as a member of the Health and Human Services and Education Committees.

“I’m honored to have been entrusted to serve on these committees and I’m looking forward to getting to work on these important issues for our state,” said Scott.  “Improving Oklahoma’s education and health care systems as well as balancing the state budget are the legislature’s most vital responsibilities.  Properly addressing education and health care positively impacts many other areas including lowering incarceration rates, increasing employment, better preparing our students to pursue careers in high paying fields and lowering dependence on government assistance – all of which helps strengthen our economy so we can invest even more in our children and our state.”

The legislature will convene for Organizational Day on Tuesday, January 8 and session will begin on Monday, February 4.
