Sen. Roland Pederson announces Enid blood drive

To alleviate the blood supply shortage caused by COVID-19, Sen. Roland Pederson, R-Burlington, will host a blood drive in Enid in conjunction with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI).

Throughout the pandemic, Pederson has hosted a series of successful mobile blood drives in northwestern Oklahoma, receiving enough blood donations to save 225 lives.

The Enid drive will be held at the City of Enid offices on Tuesday, May 26 from 1 to 4 p.m.

“If there’s something Oklahomans know, it’s how to rally together and help each other in times of need,” Pederson said. “Donating blood saves lives and it’s an easy way we can all work together for the greater good of our state.”

To follow current Centers for Disease Control guidelines, the drive will take place at a mobile unit, and donors can reserve an appointment time to reduce social contact. Appointment time slots, sign-ups and donor information can be found at www.obi.org.
