Sen. Brooks honored to serve as parade grand marshal for 2021 Festival Amistad

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Michael Brooks, D-Oklahoma City, will be serving as the 2021 Festival Amistad parade grand marshal. The annual festival will be Saturday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Putnam City High School. In its third year, the festival is presented by the City of Warr Acres, Putnam City High School (PCHS) and Hola Oklahoma Media.

“What a tremendous and exciting honor to help celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by serving as the grand marshal for the Festival Amistad parade,” Brooks said. “Oklahoma has a rich Hispanic heritage. This beautiful festival showcases various aspects of our Hispanic culture, from the delicious foods and artisanship to the beautiful clothing and dances. I hope everyone will join us for this fantastic celebration.”

The Festival Amistad, meaning friendship, is the largest Hispanic Festival in north Oklahoma City and will have a Parade of Floats and delegations beginning at Victory Church at 11 a.m. and ending at the PCHS parking lot, where guests will find music, dances, food vendors and booths.
