Process begins to reopen Anadarko tag agency

The Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) is accepting applications for a new tag agent for Anadarko. That’s according to State Sen. Darcy Jech, who said the commission approved the move at their monthly meeting held on Thursday in Tulsa.

“Citizens who would normally be able to renew their driver license or tags in Anadarko have had to travel to other communities to conduct their business since the tag agency closed down,” said Jech, R-Kingfisher. “I’m pleased that OTC has begun the process to get the Anadarko tag agency open again.”

The Anadarko tag agency has been closed since September 12, after Marleita Marlett stepped down after serving as the city’s tag agent for more than a decade. Jech thanked Marlett for her service and said with the commission’s vote, individuals interested in the position can begin submitting applications with the agency.

“We greatly appreciate Marleita’s service, and now the Tax Commission has cleared the way to begin the search for the next tag agent to resume operations in Anadarko,” Jech said. “Anyone who is interested in the position needs to begin their application process through the OTC.”
