Kingfisher legislator tapped for Senate leadership, committee posts

OKLAHOMA CITY –   State Senator Darcy Jech has been tapped to serve in three leadership roles for the upcoming 57th Legislature.  Jech, R-Kingfisher, has been selected to serve as the Rural Caucus Chair, as well as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services and the Vice-Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“I’m honored to be selected to serve in these leadership capacities.  I appreciate the faith my colleagues have in me and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue to represent the people of Senate District 26,” Jech said.  “Our best days are still ahead and I’m ready for the next year and the great potential it holds.”

Jech said he’s ready to get to work as the next legislative session approaches.  In addition to his roles as Rural Caucus Chair and his other two committee leadership positions, he will also serve as a member of the Appropriations, Public Safety, and Energy Committees.

Jech has served in the State Senate since 2014.  Members will return to the Capitol for an organizational day on January 8, 2019, and the 2019 session will formally begin on February 4.
