Sen. Murdock comments on passage of House Bill 4156

OKLAHOMA CITY— Sen. Casey Murdock, R-Felt, released the following statement after the Senate approved House Bill 4156 Tuesday. The measure aims to crack down on illegal immigration in Oklahoma by creating the crime of impermissible occupation and requiring individuals to leave the state within 72 hours of their conviction or release from custody.

“The federal government has disregarded the safety and security of Americans by letting the influx of illegal immigrants at our southern border continue. These individuals must be held accountable for depleting our resources, increasing crime, and overall posing a threat to the livelihoods of Oklahomans. We must continue to fight to protect the citizens of our state and pick up the slack of the Biden administration, who has allowed record numbers of undocumented individuals and exorbitant amounts of fentanyl to come into our country. I am appreciative of my legislative colleagues for taking action during this crisis and sending this bill to the governor’s desk.”
