Senate Pro Tem Bingman Statement on Passage of Post-Military Jobs Bill
Senate Pro Tem Brian Bingman released the following
statement Wednesday after the Senate gave unanimous approval to Senate
Bill 1863 creating the Post-Military Service Occupation, Education and
Credentialing Act.
“I am proud to support a common-sense bill that helps our veterans
and our economy,” said Bingman, R-Sapulpa. “Nobody knows
how to train and equip people for success like the United States armed
forces, and we want to make it easier for businesses to hire veterans
with skill specific backgrounds. Any employer would be thrilled to have
a veteran on their team—it’s simply a no-brainer when you
ask our job creators about the value of hiring folks that learned their
craft in the real-world scenarios of the United States armed forces.
And I know our colleges and career techs want to do all they can to
help veterans succeed in the classroom, too. Helping those that have
served our country transition into civilian life is the easiest vote
I’ll ever cast.”
