Pro Tem Bingman Statement on American Airlines plans to cut 13,000 jobs in bankruptcy restructuring and anticipated impact on Tulsa

"My thoughts are with our families in the Tulsa area that are feeling the impact of American's restructuring. I know Oklahomans will rally around our neighbors during this tough time, just like we always do.

“Yet, with adversity always comes opportunity. We've been told this restructuring will help American keep thousands of jobs in Tulsa that otherwise would have been lost. For that we should be thankful.

“There is simply no better place than here for American to begin a brighter future. My office has worked closely with Tulsa's leaders to make sure that Oklahoma has a pro-jobs climate, and we believe it makes good business sense for American to continue their investment in the future of Oklahoma."
