Statement from Sen. Newberry on Boeing jobs

Tulsa Republican Sen. Dan Newberry issued the following statement in response to the announcement Wednesday that the Boeing Company planned to close their Wichita defense plant and relocate some of those jobs to Oklahoma.

“Aerospace is a crucial component of Oklahoma’s economy and we’ve worked hard to create an environment to attract even more jobs. Wednesday’s announcement that Boeing would be relocating 800 jobs to our state is wonderful news. As chairman of the Senate’s Business and Commerce Committee, I believe this is a very positive sign that we are on the right track.”
