Public Safety

The Senate Public Safety Committee handles legislative issues relating to the safety of the citizens of our state. This committee covers firearms legislation, drivers' licenses, law enforcement training, corrections, crime and punishment and motor vehicles. Agencies that work with the Public Safety Committee include the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training and the ABLE Commission.
